Hurry! Hurry! Check out the new Sakura Collection at Starbucks!
Wait…
Do you not live in Japan?
Or maybe you do live in Japan, but it’s in a rural area where even the thought of a Starbucks is a pipe dream. Trust me, it’s a thing. I lived in a rural area of Iwate for a very long time.
Or maybe you just want to know if it even tastes good. Because nobody likes paying a lot for a drink that’s not good when they could be having a delicious chai latte.
Well, wait no more. I’ve got the inside scoop on the Sakura Collection.
The Sakura Milk Pudding Frappuccino
Price Rating
The Sakura Milk Pudding Frappuccino comes in at around 649 yen after tax. This is approximately $5.80 USD making it fairly expensive for a tall Frappuccino considering most at this Starbucks sell for about 590 yen. However, I will say there are tons of speciality ingredients in here such as beautiful Sakura candies at the top. And it comes in a special Starbucks Cherry Blossom Themed Cup. It’s just hard when a delicious Matcha Frappuccino is around which basically tastes like cake batter. It’s so good everyone.

Taste Rating
It tastes great. It’s very sweet and has the signature Starbucks Frappuccino flavor of vanilla mixed with a syrup. I enjoyed it quite a bit. The cherry blossom candies at the top didn’t taste like much but added a nice texture. And overall, there was a faint sort of sakura taste to the whole thing. The milk pudding was very yummy as well.
Texture
This is a personal thing. I don’t really like pudding in my drinks. It interrupts my experience. But if you like pudding in your drinks, you’ll really like the texture. It’s too chunky though for my preference.
Overall
It’s worth a try and super cute. But overall, I would only order it once a season. Basically, there are better drinks out there. However, I would get this drink again in another year. Particularly because the application that let’s you take a picture with the Sakura Tree is so cute.

I’m not sure about the pudding, but I still want to try it.
